By now, I’m sure you have seen enough landing pages to understand their only purpose is to sell you. Pages full of nothing but “sales talk” and maybe a video thrown in, all trying to get you to do something you don’t want to do. I’m guessing you are expecting this page to be the same. Well, this page is different! Instead of how most pages just talk at you, I want to talk to you.
Look, I understand you likely have no idea who I am beyond the little bit that you might have read or watched. I know at this point you have no reason at all to trust me, and I don’t blame you! If I were in your shoes, I would feel the same. But, something brought you to this page, so I’m hopeful you will allow me to introduce myself and share something to consider if you are looking to change the direction of your life right now.
My name is Michael Opyd. I was raised in a middle-class family by parents who drilled into me the importance of getting an education, so I could find a “good job” to work at. So I did what I was brought up to do. I got a degree and became an employee for a large company. Except, after a few years, I saw what my future looked like and realized it was not what I wanted. So I quit with no idea what I wanted to do with my life, and in the worst job market the country had seen in almost a century.
A month or so later, by chance (or fate), I was on a call with my cousin, who was a real estate agent. At some point during our conversation, the topic switched to what her life was like as an agent. What I was told changed my life forever! After she finished explaining to me that…
✅ It was possible for me to earn an unlimited amount of income so I could have the life I really wanted.
✅ I could create my own schedule where I didn’t have a certain number of vacation and sick days to take, or have to ask permission to leave early.
✅ The level of success I could achieve was completely based on my effort, with no one stopping me from rising as high as I wanted to go.
…I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for!
Except, there was a huge problem I was unaware of before I entered the real estate industry.
What I didn’t know then is that because of how the industry is designed (unintentionally), there was very little education and support available for new real estate agents. So, like most agents who enter the industry, I was either going to sink or swim based on my efforts to educate myself.
With no plan B to fall back on, I took it upon myself to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. Except it was 2009, and the housing market had just hit rock bottom. So I spent the first few years of my career treading water trying to survive. But I learned to swim and, over the course of almost two decades, built a top-producing sales business with around $75 million in career sales, closing over 300 transactions, and earning millions in commissions.
Experiencing firsthand what it was like to enter an industry designed for me to fail, I wanted to do something to help the people entering it after me. So in 2016, I opened a real estate brokerage specifically designed to help new real estate agents. We offered more education and support than any other brokerage in our market. Including a custom-built mentorship program where our agents sold and earned two to four times more real estate and income than the average first year. Seeing the success of our agents helped me recognize that what we build should not be restricted to just the brokerage. So I decided to write a book based on the content from the mentorship program and the knowledge I had gained over my career.
It took me a few months to write my book, but after my first draft (which was terrible), I realized that a single book would not be enough to help someone build a successful business quickly. So I tore it up and worked until one or two in the morning, six days a week, for over two years to create a main book that helps agents learn how to create a successful real estate business, and a workbook where they build out the most important parts of it at the same time.
After self-publishing my books, I wanted to let new agents in my market know about them, so I began contacting brokerages, offering to educate their new agents for free. But no one gave me an opportunity to. So then I decided to host my own workshops around Chicago instead. Unfortunately, after multiple attempts, no one signed up, even when I offered them for free. Following my last failed attempt at hosting a workshop, I began thinking that maybe I needed to rethink everything. I knew I had something that could really help a lot of people, but I had no idea how I could get it into their hands. Then one day, an idea came to me.
Across the last two decades, I have spent over 25,000 hours studying many of history’s most successful people. People like Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Steve Jobs, Coco Chanel, Tony Robbins, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, to name a few. What I learned from these legends played a massive role in creating the life I have today.
So I thought, what if I took all of the knowledge I gained from being a real estate agent and brokerage owner, and combined it with everything I learned from history’s most legendary people? This way, I could help people not only build their real estate business, but also help them create the life they truly want as well!
With this idea rattling around in my head, I started pouring everything I knew about real estate and life into the new program. But the more information I put into it, the larger a problem it became. How could I possibly get all of my knowledge into a timeframe that people can commit to, while also making sure they learn everything? Knowing people who are ready to change their lives, don’t want to wait months to do it, I started working on different ideas to narrow down, and finally got it all into only two weeks! But, there was one last problem to solve: how do I make sure they learn everything? Remembering back to the success of my brokerage’s mentorship, I realized that a cookie-cutter program would not work. I had to customize the program to the person I am guiding.
